Closing ceremony of the Twinning Project

On Wednesday, 16th October, at 10:00 AM, the closing ceremony of the EU-funded Twinning project “Further development of the capacities for the crime scene investigation” will take place in the conference room at Hotel Panoramika.

The project started on 8th of February and lasted for 21 months. The main beneficiary was Ministry of Interior, more specifically the Forensic Department, while the Member States partners were the Lithuanian Police Forensic Science Centre and the Forensic Service Department of State Police of Latvia. The budget for the implementation of the project was 1.050.000,00 EUR.

The project purpose was to further develop the capacities for crime scene investigation through establishment of a new organisational structure, a quality system for conducting crime scene investigation, as well as introduction of new methods and standards for collection and transport of evidence from the crime scene and creating precognitions for accreditation of the Crime scene investigation units on regional and local level in accordance with the ISO 17020:2012 standard.
